Mental Models

Intra Relational therapy

In Personal therapy

it is the therapist´s responsibility to manage these energetic stages, based on the mental models and the defenses of the patient and the therapist´s profound knowledge of his/her own mental models and defenses. The whole therapeutic vision and goal is to aid the client to regenerate from severely terrifying emotional experiences and the defense created against revelation of these unbearable emotions, that are now repetitively externalized.

If the therapist fails to keep the neutral and objective stance, (even though he/she has a genuine interest to help), because of a transference, - the therapy will suffer a halt. Maybe the patient will not come back, or at worst, it can re-traumatize the client.

To become aware of, and reveal and articulate the mental models, is in itself the therapeutic process of emotional memory and ability to self-caring behavior.
